Kia Cee'd: Steering wheel / Repair procedures

Replacement
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and then wait for at least 30 seconds.
2.
Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels can face straight ahead.
3.
Remove the airbag module.
4.
Disconnect the connector & lock nut (A) and then remove the steering wheel (B) by using special service tools (09561-11001).
Tightening torque :
39.2 ~ 44.1 N.m(4.0 ~ 4.5 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 32.5 lb-ft)

  
Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it; it may damage the steering column.
5.
Installation is the reverse of the removal.
Disaseembly
1.
Loosen the screw (A-3ea) and then remove the lower cover (B) from the steering wheel body.
Tightening torque :
7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m(0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

2.
Remove the garnish (A).

3.
Remove the wiring (A).

4.
Loosen the screw (A-6ea) and then remote control switch assembly (B) from the garnish.
Tightening torque :
7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m(0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

5.
Installation is the reverse of the removal.
